Fourward are one of Austria’s most formidable drum & bass exports, originally forming in 2007 as a four-piece collective influenced by the heavyweights of the scene: Bad Company, Noisia, and Ed Rush & Optical. After making waves with their remix of The Upbeats‘ „Alone“ on Vision Recordings and the ‚Aftermath‘ EP on Audioporn Records, they caught the attention of Friction at BBC Radio 1, who promptly signed them to his Shogun Audio label.
Their 2016 album Expansion cemented their reputation as versatile producers, earning support across the board from DJ Mag, UKF, Annie Nightingale, and the wider drum & bass community. The 2018 Hope EP on Elevate Records saw the title track become Annie Mac’s „Hottest Record In The World“ and one of the year’s biggest anthems.
In 2019, the group transitioned from a quartet to a duo, with Niklas and Dominik departing for personal reasons. Lukas and Ludwig have since steered the project into its current era, releasing the Lose Control LP in 2020 and following up with a consistent stream of singles and EPs including Your Look (2022), Wake Up The Kids, and Put In Work . Their latest release Your Gaze dropped in March 2026 , proving that nearly two decades in, Fourward continue to deliver high-impact, rolling drum & bass across the full spectrum.
